It was a carnival like event over the weekend as the People of Amuda ward, Traditional Institutions, Political Associates, Friends, and well wishers, gathered at Aho Ojide market square, Isuochi, Umunneochi LGA to celebrate with the Councillor representing Amuda Ward, Hon Ezinwa David Mba, as he marked his one year in office.
Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman, Umunneochi local government area, High Chief Sunny Afurobi, congratulated Hon Ezinwa David Mba, describing him as a very dedicated lawmaker committed to the service of his people, expressing confidence that he will go far in his political career.
Chief Afurobi who was impressed by the empowerment the Councillor rolled out for his constituents announced additional cash awards to Ten Primary School pupils who are to receive fifteen thousand each, Ten Secondary School Students – twenty thousand each, and four small scale business women, who got twenty thousand naira each, as a token of support.

Chief Afurobi, who disclosed that it was the the Amuda ward Councillor that intimated him about the age long court litigations over the Aho Ojide market which has hampered development and commercial activities in the market, which his administration has taken steps towards finding lasting solution.
He therefore appreciated Amuda Traditional Rulers, Amuda Town Development Union, and other Stakeholders, who have started the peace process.

The Mayor used the occasion to enumerate some of his achievements in office which include: retrofitting, remodeling, and renovation of some buildings at the Council headquarters, reticulation of water to all the offices, provision of Solar Light and Internet facility, construction of Achara Bridge, Construction of a new Military Base to fight insecurity, Installation of Solar street lights at different flashpoints within Umunneochi, clearing of major road sides, Construction of culverts at Akpugo Umumeze, and Aro Ikpa Nneato, and another one in front of a government office.
Others are: rural road maintenance along Ezi Fembi – Umuerim Umukparo Mbala road among other rural road rehabilitation, erosion control at Umuelem, youth empowerment, to mention but a few.
Chief Afurobi whike commending the Governor, Dr Alex Otti, for creating the enabling environment for all and for guaranteeing even development in all parts of the state, assured that the people of Umunneochi will consistently be supportive to his people oriented administration..
Welcoming his guests earlier, the Councillor, Amuda ward, Hon Ezinwa David Mba, who could not hide his joy for the massive support from his people, appreciated the citizens of Amuda ward who massively voted for him on 2nd November, 2024, pointing out that this has motivated him to keep serving with geater diligence.

Hon Mba attributed his attainments so far to the leadership influence of the Governor, Dr Alex Otti, and the Mayor of the local government, High Chief Sunny Afurobi, and thanked hor providing him with the conducuve political atmosphere to operate.
Hon Mba who acknowledged God for his political elevation, further appreciated other Ogbuehi Uche Okoroafor, Dr Oluebube Chukwu, Hon Mathias Ume, Umuokorobia Isuochi Association, MFC, Stakeholders, and his family, for queuing behind him when it mattered most.
Reeling out some of his achievements, he asserted that due to a robust relationship with the Mayor, he was able to assist about eleven Youths from Amuda enrol in the TechRise Cohort one, 4 youths that have passed out, and Cohort 2, where 7 of the Youths are currently acquiring advanced knowledge on ICT, as well as assembled a formidable Amuda Team that is participating in the ongoing Abia Fest Football Competition.
Also named are: the filling of Umuogbu Umuehihie and Uhumbara Umumeze, through Ibezim road, the reconstruction and expansion of Culvert project at Akpugo Umumeze, and distribution of free water to his people during the 2024 Christmas period to serve their water needs.
Hanto Daily News reports that the Councillor empowered 22 Primary school pupils with an education bursary of fifteen thousand naira each, 20 secondary school students that got education bursary support of twenty thousand naira each and
16 constituents that received a Nano grant of twenty thousand each to support their small-scale businesses
