The Eze-elect of Nsirimo Amaise Autonomous Community, Dr. Charles Chukwuemeka Amanze, has decried the lack of amenities, especially roads, in the community.
Addressing a World Press Conference at his Umunelu Nsirimo Palace, Dr Amanze who is also High Prince Ugochinyerenwa Amadioha Nsirimo, lamented that it was difficult to access Nsirimo through the neighbouring Abam Community due to lack of good road network in the area.
“Since the creation of Abia State, no administration has put the blade of a buldozer on the Abam-Nsirimo link road and other internal roads in the community,” the Eze-elect said, adding “We need access roads so that economic activities will boom and our farmers can take their produce to the market and make profit.”
He therefore passionately appealed to the the State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, the Mayor of Umuahia South and the authorities of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to come to the aid of Nsirimo community by providing it with access roads.
The Eze-elect however commended Governor Otti for his fruitful one-year-in-office, pointing out that his activities for the past one year have impacted positively on the state.
“I commend the Governor for maintaining, during his first year in office, a lazer-focus on all sectors: from massive building of roads infrastructure to revamping the health sectors, refocusing of the Education Sector to meet the needs of the 21st Century, prioritization of worker’s welfare, driving grassroots sports development and harnessing the talents of the youths and even children, rejigging the State Security apparatchiks to ensure that Abians go to sleep with their two eyes closed and that investments are protected.
“His energetic forays into trade, commerce and investment have seen many countries and investors indicating their interest to come to Abia, not forgetting his zeal to lift the women folks and the down-trodden.
“These efforts by the Dr. Alex Otti–led administration have resulted in the enviable, cohesive transformation of Abia as the fastest growing state in the federation under the present dispensation”, Dr. Amanze said.
According to him, Governor Alex Otti, has raised the bar of development in Abia and prayed to God Almighty to sustain him and enable him to realize his vision of a New Abia.
He called on the people of Nsirimo Amaise Autonomous Community to love one another, live in peace and avoid anything that would lead to crises in the build up to choosing a new traditional ruler for the community.
“Let us remember that our community’s strength lies in our diversity and our ability to engage in constructive dialogue, I pledge to work tirelessly to unite our community and ensure that every voice is heard,” he assured.
“Together, let us build a brighter future for ourselves and for the generations yet unborn,” he enjoined the people.
