As the November 8, 2025 Governorship election approaches, the National Vice Chairman, South East of the Labour Party, Mr Ceekay Igara has charged the political class to focus on issue based campaigns and avoid heating up the polity.
Igara, in a release he personally endorsed reminded all politicians that Anambra belongs to the people whose responsibility it is to choose who their next leaders would be.
He therefore challenged the people of Anambra State to take their future into their hands by willingly deciding who should lead them in the next four years using the ballots.
The LP National Vice Chairman while stressing the importance of voting during elections and making voting accessible via online, advised the electorate to vote and ensure their votes are counted on the election day.
“Another election year is here on you and it is time to make that all important decision for the development of your state by taking your future in your own hands by coming out en-masse to vote for the candidates and political parties of your choice.
“The importance of voting during elections cannot be over-emphasized because it impacts both your local and national issues. While we seek for a nation where voting is made accessible online to enhance early registration, and voting convenient for all, may I implore you to by all means come out in your numbers and decide who leads you for the next four years, ” Igara noted
On his expectations from the electoral Body, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the LP Helmsman enjoined the electoral umpire to partner with organizations to register eligible voters, especially in underrepresented communities to make them ready for the poll.
He further assured that the Labour Party will on April 5, duly and democratically elect candidates at their primaries to fly the flag of the party and give the people proper governance.
“We will engage and collaborate with community leaders, influencers to encourage voting. We must address the issues of Healthcare, education, security and infrastructure which are the basic needs of our people”, the Party Leader pointed out.
