The Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has challenged the new Commander 14 Brigade Ohafia, Brigadier General Hassan Muhammad Bello to come up with new ways of combating crime using Technology.
Governor Otti who was speaking while officially receiving Brigadier General Muhammad Bello noted that security remains the topmost priority of his administration and made it clear that all efforts must be made towards achieving that.
He applauded the outgoing Commander, Nigerian Army ,14 Brigade Ohafia ,Brigadier General Olusola Diya for his tireless efforts in keeping Abia peaceful and safe during his 12months period of Service to the state.
The Governor observed that Brigadier Diya left an excellent record of performance and urged the new Brigade Commander to build on the achievements of his predecessor.
Governor Otti assured the new 14 Brigade Commander of all necessary support to succeed and wished the outgoing Commander Olusola Diya well in his new assignment.
Introducing the new Brigade Commander to the Governor earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security matters Navy Commander MacDonald Ubah Rtd, said Governor Alex Otti sees security as bedrock of any society and thanked the Governor for providing security Agencies in the state with all that is needed towards achieving a peaceful and secured state.
I. His speech, the outgoing Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Olusola Diya said Abia remains a family to him having served the state for a year and expressed the hope that his successor will surpass his achievements.
He thanked Governor Alex Otti for all his support which enabled him to achieve great results in the security sector with other sister security Agencies.
Baring his mind, the new Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Hassan Muhammed Bello promised to work with other security Agencies to sustain and improve on the gains of his predecessor as well as support the vision of Governor Otti in making Abia the most peaceful and secured.
