The Abia State Police Command says it has identified the officers involved in the manhandling of a civilian currently trending on Facebook.
A release by the Command’s PPRO, Maureen Chinaka makes public that the officers are currently under interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
According to the release the public will be further updated after necessary administrative actions are taken against the erring officers in the incident said to have occurred along Lagos Street, Umuahia on 20/02/2025
It further reiterates that the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, strongly condemns this act of unprofessional misconduct and incivility, warning that under his leadership, the command is committed to ensuring a professionally competent, Rule of law complaint, and people-friendly police force in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police.
The release therefore enjoins the public to report any misconduct, unprofessional behavior, or incivility by officers of the command to the Complaint Response Unit via 09031593827, 09035401645.
