IKEUJ Boxing Promotion Takes Huge Step Towards Enhancing Grassroots Talent Hunt

In support of Governors Peter Mbah of Enugu State, and Alex Chioma Otti, of Abia State, in their commitment to promote education and good governance in both states, the IKEUJ Entreprises limited and IKEUJ Boxing Promotion, has extended funding to Kenneth Ugwu, a promising young boxer discovered across the 17 LGAs of Enugu State, South Eastern Nigeria.

The move which is part of the grassroots boxing talent hunt initiative by the Rt Hon Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, in collaboration with ALGON Enugu State Chapter, support saw the payment of ₦38,750.00 to Community Secondary School, Ndiagu Amechi, to cover Kenneth’s NECO registration fee.

According to the Promoter, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo who made the transfer, the gesture is to enable the student-athlete to pursue both academic and sporting excellence without financial barriers.

Meanwhile, reports reaching Hanto Daily news say one of the sponsors of this initiative in Abia, Emperor Chinaza Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, South East Lightweight Boxing Champion, has Commenced his National Youth Service programme

Chinaza Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, popularly known as Emperor: The Pride of Amangwu, Arochukwu Kingdom, Abia State Nigeria has commenced the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking through his management, the 21-year-old, who holds a BSc in Computer Science, reaffirmed his commitment to boxing and assured fans of his readiness to compete in the upcoming Jabs of the Lions Boxing Championship, subject to weekend scheduling that does not conflict with his national assignment.
