The Abia State Government has announced the cancellation of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, across the state.
In a statement endorsed by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Ogbonna on newsmen on Friday through the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Mrs Obioma Chidinma, Government urged residents to go about their normal and lawful activities without interruption.
While emphasizing that there will be no restriction of movement on Saturday, the Ministry of Environment, however, encouraged Abians to maintain a clean and healthy environment by ensuring proper sanitation in their homes, markets, and places of business.
”The Abia State Government hereby announces the cancellation of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise throughout the State earlier scheduled for tomorrow Saturday, April 25, 2026.
”Abia residents are hereby informed that there will be no restriction of movements on Saturday.Citizens are encouraged to go about their normal and lawful activities without interruption,” the statement reads.
