Amorim unsure of his players’ performance as they face Brentford

Manchester United’s Coach, Ruben Amorim has really shown that he is facing a difficult moment in his career as the Boss of the club currently placed 11th in the English Premiership, following his comments this Friday (26/9/25).

Addressing the press during the usual pre-match briefing, the Gaffer admitted that he does not know what to expect from his struggling side.

Amorim who has faced a lot of criticisms as result of his insistence on 4-2-3-1 system that has not brought out the best from most of the players, believed that the best approach is to treat each match as if it is the “last one”.

“It’s really important for us to have that sense of urgency that we need to win, no matter what,” he said.

“Every time we start preparing for the game and you watch the next opponent, you think it’s going to be really, really tough.

“I have that feeling. But for me, we cannot control the result of the game. The most important thing is to start the game the way we started against Chelsea, the way we started against Burnley, the way we started against Arsenal,” the embattled Coach noted.

Amorim, however, singled out new signing, Bryan Mbeumo, who has impressed since joining United from Brentford in July for praise and expressed Joy over his contributions.

“It’s really important for everything he has been doing, the light that he brings to the dressing room. He is not the guy that talks more but you can feel it that he’s always there to help us.

“He runs a lot, presses a lot, he is a different threat compared to last season…. I’m more than happy with Bryan,” he observed.

The Red Devils travel to Brentford on Saturday, seeking the maiden back-to-back Premier League wins during the Portuguese manager’s beleaguered 10-month reign.

United won their last match 2-1 against Chelsea at the old Trafford in a duel that does both sides concluding the encounter with 10 players.
