The move to console the poor, sick and the less privileged by the Canaanland Counselling Centre, Worldwide also known as the E-Dey-Work Ministry has continued to yield fruits and gain grounds as the adoration centre moved to Umuatum OBOAMA in Ezinihitte Local Government Area of Imo State on Tuesday.
The move spearheaded by the Spiritual Director of the centre, Rev Fr Dr Magnus ebere, SDV, popularly known as Fr E-Dey-Work anchored at the family of Mr & Mrs Desmond Njoku, a couple down with different ailments for some years now.
While the Head of the family, Desmond Njoku has been visually impaired for over seven years making him unable to step out of his bed, his Ugochi Rosemary Njoku who was taking care of him was hit by a stroke that paralyzed the limbs about three and half years ago worsening the situation.
Fr Ebere who was accompanied by the Consolation of the poor team decided to visit this family in order to assist in alleviating the sufferings ravaging the couple.
The Spiritual Director on arrival prayed for the two that stay separately and also handed over food stuff, beverages, Pampers among other things for their upkeep to assist their children who have been finding it difficult to take care of their parents.
Speaking with Hanto Daily News, Rev Fr Dr Ebere reiterated his desire to consistently bring Joy into peeple’s lives, stressing that he has a joyful mandate.
The Catholic Priest who pointed out that such couples need assistance and love from the public, noted with concern that most well to do Nigerians are selfish.
While pointing out that the government cannot be trusted to adequately care for the needy and less privileged, the outspoken clergyman vowed to continue leading the campaign to show love and care for the neglected and sick people.
On how the project would be sustained considering the economic situation in the country, Fr E-Dey-Work made it clear that the God that sent him on this mission will provide for for its sustenance.
Expressing his feelings, the first son of the couple, Michael Njoku thanked Rev Fr Ebere and the Ministry for coming to their rescue, disclosing that it has not been easy managing the health and needs of their parents for some years now.
He called on the church and other well meaning Nigerians to join Fr E-Dey-Work-Dey in this effort to assist the sick and the needy while praying to God to keep blessing him.
