The Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers has made its position on the governorship stool of the State for 2027 known as the body has announced its endorsement of Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office.
Making the position known that the governor’s in a resolution made available to the press after their crucial meeting held on Thursday, 5th November, 2026, in Aba Abia state, involving the Executive of the Council comprising; the Principal officers, Chairmen of the 17 LGA Council of Traditional Rulers, the Secretary and Public relations officer of the council, the royal fathers pointed out that the Governor’s achievements across various sectors have made the 2027 election campaign a mere fulfilment of all righteousness.
The resolution signed by the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman of the South East Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Dr. Linus Nto Mbah, as well as his three Deputies noted that the position of the traditional rulers followed the official flag off of the Governorship Campaign for the 2027 election in which Governor Alex Chioma Otti, CHIOMA NDI ABIA is contesting for the second term in office.
The monarchs said Governor Otti had recorded remarkable achievements since assuming office, particularly in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, security and youth empowerment, among other critical sectors of the state’s economy.
According to the Traditional Rulers, the administration of Governor Otti has surpassed the achievements recorded by the previous administration, making the governor’s re-election a task that requires little or no campaign.
The traditional rulers noted that the governor’s performance across different sectors had become a visible testament to his leadership and commitment to the development of Abia State.
“Few months ago, we took a tour to all the 17:LGAs in the State for sensitisation and mobilisation of the people for PVC registration and election; and were able to witness first hand, all the projects and achievements of Governor Alex Otti.
“We acknowledge wonderful projects and achievements of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, CHIOMA NDI ABIA, in every sector of the economy;
“From road infrastructure to healthcare, education, security, especially in our communities, real and tangible youth empowerments, particularly through Techrise, Leadership Academy, among others.
“We therefore unanimously endorse Governor Alex Otti as our sole candidate for 2027 governorship election.
“Governor Otti does not need to campaign, because his works are campaigning for him,” the Royal Fathers noted.
The traditional rulers further expressed confidence that the people of Abia State would continue to appreciate the impact of the administration’s programmes and projects across the state.
They maintained that the governor’s record of achievements had provided sufficient evidence of his capacity and commitment to sustaining the development trajectory of the state.
