As Politicians continue to adjust and make moves towards finding more comfortable and popular platforms for their future, the 2023 APGA House of Assembly candidate for Umunneochi State Constituency, Chief Ebere Nwankwo, Esq, has officially joined Abia Arise, a pro-political structure of Governor Alex Otti at the LGA level.
Making his new position known on Saturday when he was formally welcomed into the group during a grand ceremony held at Peace Comprehensive School in Umunneochi LGA, Abia State, Chief Nwankwo expressed his determination to support the Dr Alex Otti administration, citing his passion for contributing to the development of his community and Abia State as a whole.
“I am people-centric and seeing that Governor Alex Otti’s administration is people oriented, I have decided to join Abia Arise, a platform that will give me an opportunity to contribute my quota to the progress and development of my LGA. As someone who has been running a foundation, Nwachinaemere Care and Empowerment Foundation for decades, I understand the needs of the people and it’s because of the people that I decided to join politics and also support the current administration in Abia State led by Governor Alex Otti”, he said.
Chief Ebere Nwankwo, who is also the Chairman, Regal Group of Companies said as part of his commitment, he decided collapse his structure in APGA Umunneochi LGA to join Abia Arise, revealing that over 3000 of his supporters, friends, and well-wishers, including a popular Politician and friend, High Chief Alex Okeoma (Dangote Umunneochi) were part of his team.
He applauded the Governor’s efforts in restoring security, improving road infrastructure, education, and healthcare in Abia State.
“It’s worth noting that Governor Alex Otti has already taken steps to address pressing issues in Abia State. I commend his efforts in restoring security and normalcy in Umunneochi LGA. In 2023 when I ran for election, most of my friends refused to come home due to insecurity and incessant kidnapping in some catchment areas in Umunneochi, but today, the story is different as the Governor’s security strategy has yielded positive results and driven away the hoodlums who were causing palpable fear on the residents due to their nefarious activities. We can now go home and drive around Umunneochi without fear of being attacked or kidnapped”. Chief Nwankwo affirmed.
Welcoming Chief Ebere Nwankwo and his supporters to Abia Arise, Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Policies and Interventions, Rev. Fr. Dr Christian Uche Anokwuru applauded Chief Ebere Nwankwo ‘s bold decision to join Abia Arise and align with the transformation agenda of the Governor.
While expressing satisfaction for the massive crowd of supporters who joined Chief Nwankwo, the Governor described him as man of the people, whose personality is endearing and acknowledged by all and sundry.
“We are happy to receive you and we love your decision to join us to lend support to our performing Governor, who has come to rebuild Abia. In Abia Arise, we treat everyone with love and extends hands of fellowship to all our members and we know your meaningful contributions as a man who love progress and development, will go a long way in making the group achieve her aims and objectives. We will work together for the betterment of our people, in support of our leader, Dr Alex Otti”, he added.
He further explained that Abia Arise is a political movement and group in Abia State focused on supporting the current administration of Governor Alex Otti and promoting the policies, initiatives and development of Abia State including advocating for the development of Abia State’s infrastructure, economy, and social services and mobilizing public support for the government’s programs and projects.
The occasion attracted array of dignitaries in Umunneochi and Abia State including the member representing Umunneochi State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Mathias Umeh Nwachi, the Executive Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, Chief Sunday Afurobi and his predecessor, Chief Ndubuisi Ike, the Deputy Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, Hon. Chinonye Igbo, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Abia State, Hon Chaka Chukwumerije, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Due Process, Dr Oluebube Chukwu, the State Coordinator of Abia Arise, Hon Chief Nkem Okoro, the Coordinator of Abia Arise in Umunneochi LGA, Chief Ike Opigwe, Mr Dodoh Okafor , SSA to the Governor on Public Communications, among others.
