The stage is now set for party primat politics in Abia APC as a frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has picked the party’s nomination form ahead of the 2027 election.
Making the revelation in a statement shared on his social media handle on Tuesday, Kalu pointed out that the move signalled his firm determination to contest the governorship election under the platform of the APC.
“Today, in a clear demonstration of my commitment to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia State under the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, I took the valiant step of purchasing the party’s nomination form,” he said.
The aspirant expressed appreciation to party leaders and stakeholders for their support, while specifically thanking the Abia State Working Committee, the National Working Committee, and other party leaders for wha he described as steering the APC in the right direction.
Kalu reiterated his vision for what he termed a greater Abia, pledging to stay the course in the build-up to the party’s primaries.
While asserting that he has become the first aspirant to obtain the form in Abia, the former chief of staff to a former governor urged his supporters to remain resolute, insisting that he would not abandon the race midway.
“To my teeming supporters and followers, do not be shaken; remain steadfast, for I did not start this journey only to back down for anybody halfway,” he stated.
