In a move that many see as a political restrategization in the unfolding political drama in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle within the State Executive Council.
In the changes announced by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr. Honour Sirawoo, the Commissioner for sports, Barrister Christopher Green has been moved to the Ministry of Justice as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
The statement added that Barrister Green will continue to oversee the Ministry of Sports in an interim capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Commissioner.
According to the statement, the decision approved at the final State Executive Council meeting for 2025 takes immediate effect.
It further clarified that the move is aimed at strengthening governance, ensuring continuity in service delivery, and enhancing the performance of key ministries.
