Enugu Rep faces recall from Constituents

There are indications that the handling of the current recall process of Senator Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan could result in a gale of such processes by different constituencies in Nigeria.

Just a few days after INEC officially announced the receipt of the petition against Senator Natasha, Voters in the Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency of Enugu State have taken steps to recall their representative in the House of Representatives, Hon. Martins Oke.

According to reports, Oke who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is being accused of non performance.

The petition dated March 27, 2025, which was submitted to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was signed by Mr. Ugwuagbo Emmanuel Chizoba, Mr. Clinton Ogbonna, Mr. Sabinus Amah, and Mr. Stephen Okenwa.

While calling for the removal of the House of representatives member, the petitioners made it clear that non-performance is the key reason for the recall move.

Meanwhile, INEC is yet to make public the receipt of the petition.
