It was all praises for the developmental initiatives and patriotism of the South East representative on the governing board of the North East Development Commission, NEDC, Chief Sam Onuigbo, as Stakeholders from Ikwuano/ Umuahia gathered to hear from him regarding the steps taken so far to ensure the realization of the strategic Umuahia – Ikwuano – Ikot Ekpene Federal road.

Speaker after Speaker who spoke at the gathering in Umuahia described it as patriotic, extraordinary and unusual for a politician to stick to pursuing the completion of projects he attracted while in office.
While further commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving more funds to enable the completion of the road project, the Stakeholders were in agreement that the current state of road project which had in the past elicited undue attacks from uninformed Constituents on Chief Onuigbo while he served in the National Assembly has shown that his struggles were not in vain.
A renowned outspoken Politician and former commissioner in Abia State, Chief Charles Ogbonna pointed out that the interest shown by Chief Onuigbo even while outside the National Assembly where he attracted the project while representing the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North/ Umuahia South Federal Constituency is historical and worthy of emulation.
Chief Ogbonna popularly known as Evulogu Ibeku described the former National Assembly member as a rare politician whose interest is to work for the people.
While praying for the continued elevation of the NEDC Board member, the former Commissioner pleaded like all other subsequent Speakers from Ibeku for the reconstruction of the Ohokobe – Ihie axis of the road which has not been touched.
Baring his mind, Ninety – Four – Year – Old Traditional Ruler of Ndume, the home community of the first Military Head of State, Late Gen Aguiyi Ironsi, His Royal Majesty, Eze Donatus Okiyi commended Chief Onuigbo for his love for the people and enjoined to continue pressuring the authorities until the project becomes a reality.
The Chairman Ikwuano Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Monday Okoro lauded the former member House of Representatives for his dexterity in insisting on the completion of all the projects he started while in the Green chambers and urged him not to relent.
In their speeches Presidents General of various communities in the Federal Constituency pleased with Chief Onuigbo not to be distracted from focusing on the development of the area and the State, assuring the maximum support of their people to his developmental initiatives.
All the Speakers who noted that current rehabilitation of the road via the sponsorship of NNPCL as solicited by Chief Onuigbo while in office has positively changed everything, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and expressed confidence that the project will be realized this time around.
The Stakeholders meeting chaired by the Chief Medical Director Federal Medical Center Umuahia, Professor Azubuike Onyebuchi saw Chief Onuigbo assure them of the determination of the APC led Federal Government to improve infrastructure in the South East Geopolitical zone .
