World Braille Day: OACF tasks Govt , Communities on awareness, advocacy

The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, OACF, has called on government, communities and individuals must continue to raise awareness and advocate for accessibility, respect, and equal opportunity regarding the use and availability of Braille.

In a statement to mark the World Braille Day, which emphasized that Providing Braille is not charity rather it is giving access to knowledge independence and divinity and that when you provide Braille you give the blind power to read, learn and dream without limits, OACF pointed out that the event calls for proper and intentional action from all.

The philanthropic Organization made it clear that the event is also a global reminder that access to information is a fundamental human right.

“On this day, we celebrate Braille; a powerful system of communication that has transformed the lives of blind and visually impaired individuals by opening doors to education, independence, and full participation in society.

“On World Braille Day, we are called to action. The government, communities and individuals must continue to raise awareness and advocate for accessibility, respect, and equal opportunity.

“As we mark World Braille Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to a world where no one is left behind due to inaccessible communication, OACF concludes.
