It was a gathering of who is who in Ukwa and Ngwa ethnic Nationalities, the 9 Local Government Areas making up the old Aba zone of Abia, God’s own State at the Enyimba International Stadium, on Friday for a Grand Civic Reception held in his honour of the Governor, Dr Alex Otti.

The venue which witnessed a sea of heads, attracted people from different political divides including: PDP BOT Chairman and former Senate President, Adolf Wabara, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of the new coalition force (ADC), House of Representatives and State Assembly members, National Secretary of the Labour Party, Senator Darlington Nwokocha among others.
Addressing the jubilant crowd, Governor, Alex Otti announced the decision of his administration to officially flag off the reconstruction of the Enyimba Hotel Aba into a -5 star International Hotel on the 25th of next month.

Governor Otti who also stated that the newly reconstructed Ovom Street road will equally be Commissioned by his administration on the same day disclosed that the Enyimba Hotel reconstruction project which commenced last year December is being handled by the Radisson Blu.

According to him, the company has been given a short delivery timeline, adding that the 5-star Hotel with convention and leisure centers is expected to commence operation by next year.
He used the forum to call on the people of Ukwa La Ngwa to mobilize their people who are yet to obtain their voters card to get registered as to fully showcase their real voting strength in future elections.

Governor Otti further enjoined them to act as Chief security officers of their neighborhood to ensure the protection of infrastructure put in place by government in their areas as well as maintain a clean and healthy environment.
The Governor thanked the Ukwa La Ngwa people for the reception which signifies their level of love and acceptability for him and for also mapping out huge amount for the purchasing of form his reelection.

Speaking on behalf of stakeholders of the 9 LGAS of the Ukwa La Ngwa people, the Senator representing Abia South senatorial Zone, Chief Enyinnaya Abaribe made it clear that Governor Otti has changed the narratives in all facets, deserving the support of all.
In their remarks, the National Secretary of the Labour Party, Senator Darlington Nwokocha and the speaker Abia House of Assembly Mr Emmanuel Emeruwa described the event as an expression of love and general acceptance of the Governor, pointing out that the Governor has redefined Governance.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman on the Occasion, Senator Adolphus Wabara described the reception of the Ukwa La Ngwa people as a united, non-partisan and the people’s verdict in honour of the Governor whose performance is built on verifiable achievements rather than propaganda.

He stated that the mammoth crowd was organic, spontaneous, and genuine ,a demonstration of love from the people who have seen and felt the dividends of purposeful leadership, noting that the visible transformation across the state including the timely completion of Port Harcourt Road Aba has permanently silenced the Governor’s detractors.
In his speech,the leader and Spokesperson of the Ukwa La Ngwa people, Chief Theo Nkire said that the event is a celebration of a great achiever of the Ukwa Ngwa nation,Dr Alex Otti who has within the shortest possible time revolutionalized all sectors of the people’s lives including transforming Aba from a small importer town to a world class industrial hub.
He appealed to the rest Abians to see the Ngwa man from the positive angle, adding that the story of the Ukwa Ngwa nation is that of courage, determination, success and achievements as represented by Governor Alex Otti.
Highlights of the event was the formal endorsement of Governor Otti for reelection by the Ukwa la Ngwa Steering Committee, led by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Emmanuel Emeruwa and the announcement of a one hundred million Naira support by the committee for the Governor’s reelection.
