The leadership of The Nigerian Project (TNP), the foremost political structure associated with the ideals and vision of former Military President, Ibrahim Babangida, has unequivocally stated that the IBB political family and The Nigerian Project across the country shall play a decisive role in determining who governs Nigeria in 2027.

TNP in a release endorsed by its National Convener, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba notes that Nigeria today stands at a critical crossroads and urgently requires purposeful, visionary, and responsible leadership capable of moving the nation forward.
To this end, The Nigerian Project announced that it shall soon constitute a high-powered committee that will evaluate the presidential candidates expected to emerge from the various political parties after their primaries.
According to the release, the committee will carefully study their manifestos, leadership capacity, track records, and commitment to national development and unity, in close liaison with our Principal.
TNP further states that such a candidate must be a detribalised patriot with proven administrative competence, sound economic understanding, courage, integrity, respect for democratic institutions, compassion for the people, and the political will to confront insecurity, unemployment, poverty, corruption, and the urgent need for political and institutional reforms.
“Such a leader must also possess the capacity to unite Nigerians across ethnic, religious, and political divides, while inspiring confidence, national hope, and economic rebirth.
“For the avoidance of doubt, The Nigerian Project has remained strictly nonpartisan. However, with structures firmly established across the 36 states of the federation, the FCT, the 774 local government areas, wards, and polling units nationwide, the movement is positioned to play a leading role, haven consistently placed national interest above partisan considerations,” the statement categorically affirmed.
It also argues that its commitment has always been to the stability, unity, growth, and prosperity of Nigeria through the emergence of competent and visionary leadership rather than blind loyalty to any political party.
“At the appropriate time, The Nigerian Project shall make its position known to Nigerians and provide clear direction on the leadership option capable of rescuing, repositioning, and rebuilding the country for peace, unity, progress, security, and economic transformation,” TNP assures.
