All is now set for the State Finals of the 9th Edition/2026 Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly Grassroots Boxing Talent Hunt, tagged ”THE ROARING LIONS” slated for Wednesday, 30th September, 2026.
A statement released by Ikeuj Boxing Promotions/Action Committee on Sports Literacy, says venue is Parliament Hall, Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB) Headquarters, Enugu, while time is 11:00 AM.
The statement names some of the top finalist Male Boxers expected to include:
- Maxwell Anikwe – Flyweight
- Jude Ugwuanyi – Featherweight
- Kenneth Ugwu – Welterweight
- Victor Egbo – Middleweight.
In the female category, one of the top boxers to feature is Chisom Ani who is in the Flyweight category.
Speaking via a telephone interview, the CEO IKEUJ Promotions and Ex-International Boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo assured that every arrangement is in place to ensure a hitch-free tournament.
Mazi Okoronkwo commended Governor Peter Mbah , Speaker Uche C. Ugwu and ALGON, Enugu State Chapter for their all-round support and expressed confidence that the exercise will yield the desired result.
