The President Vision Africa International and Co-chair interfaith dialogue for peace, Bishop Sunday Ndukwe Onuoha has called on Nigerians of goodwill and Men of good conscience to cause the Nigerian government to see the need to adopt political solution in resolving the issues surrounding the continued incarceration of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Speaking during an end of year party he organized for Journalists in Abia State, Bishop Onuoha made it clear that only political solutions and not legal pursuits would automatically address this matter that has affected the Socio – political and economic lives of the South East.
The clergyman who recalled that he had severally visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the DSS Office with the latest being on the 16th of
December, 2024, pointed out that it was time for all parties to act maturely by seeking a political approach to the resolution of the situation.
” All those who are Men of goodwill and Men of good conscience, it is time for us to ask the Federal Government to listen to our request that we must find a political solution.
” The people in the South East have said release him, the court has also said release him. So, why are you holding him?”the Methodist Bishop asked.
He noted that the detained IPOB Leader “never called for arms and never called for war” , stressing that the justice he demanded for is staring Nigerians in the face today with many unable to feed themselves.
Bishop Onuoha however revealed that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is high spirit and is interested in finding solutions to the misunderstanding.
” I believe that the young man is also interested in finding solutions to the whole misunderstanding. And he is in a very good spirit, a very high spirit,” he observed.
