INEC Releases List Of Top Ten States With Highest Number of Registered Voters, South East Not Among

Reports from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC have it that no South East State is in the list of the top ten states with the highest number of registered voters for the 2027 general elections.

According to the report released by INEC Chairman, Prof Joash Amupitan, on Tuesday during the commission’s World Press Conference in Abuja, South West has three states, North West – three states, South South – two states, North Central – one state, and North East – One state.

The report states that the South West State of Lagos topped the ranking with 7,488,633 registered voters, followed by the North West state of Kano State with 6,000,570.

Emerging third is Kaduna State with 4,000,640 registered voters, while Katsina State comes fourth with 3,876,051.

Oyo State is placed fifth with 3,588,111 registered voters, while Delta State with 3,525,988 is placed sixth.

The South South State of Rivers has 3,000,734 registered voters, while Benue State of the North Central has 3,057,225.

In the ninth position is Ogun State with 3,037,981 registered voters, while Bauchi, the only State from North East ranks 10th with 3,000,047.
