The Executive Chairman/Mayor Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia, Chief Sunny Afurobi has made it clear that he has not resigned from office as was purported by a fake letter written by political jobbers.
In a release he personally endorsed, Chief Afurobi described the fake as the handiwork of his detractors, revealing that his lawyers and security agencies are reviewing the situation.
He therefore enjoined the people of Umunneochi to remain calm and disregard the wicked publication.
Recall before the purported resignation of the Mayor, there has been a back and forth situation regarding the leadership of Umunneochi Legislative Council resulting in the announcement of the impeachment of the leader by some Councillors and the subsequent rumoured resignation of some Councillors who master minded the announced impeachment.
Hanto Daily News gathered the situation which is tainted with ulterior motives is generating debates among political interests with the Traditional Rulers in the earlier calling for support for the Afurobi led administration and advising politicians against heating up the peaceful Council Area.
