Gov Otti presents 24 Vehicles to Abia House Members, reiterates determination to encourage locally produced products

The Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has presented 24 brand new Roxettes Vans to the 24-House of Assembly members to enable them to perform maximally.

Presenting the keys to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Emmanuel Emeruwa, Governor Otti said the gesture is in fulfillment of the promise he made to them.

The Governor who made public noting that the Vans were locally produced, pointed out that it is in line with his policy of patronizing indigenous manufacturers.

He revealed that the manufacturer of the Vehicles who is from Umunneochi LGA is at present setting up his factory in Obuaku in Ukwa west LGA, with the road leading to the factory almost completed.

Governor Otti reiterated his administration’s resolve to upscale the quality of indigenous products to encourage local production and patronage, adding that there is an ongoing efforts to establish an export growth Lab in partnership with the UNDP in the state.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Deputy Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Augustine Okezie commended Governor Alex Otti for the gesture, pointing out that this makes it the second vehicle the Governor has given to each Member of the 8th House of Assembly.
