The Mayor, Umunneochi local government area, Chief Sunny Afurobi, has as security Agencies in the area that his administration will continue working in synergy with them for greater results.
Speaking in his office while receiving Superintendent Amadi, the new Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Isuochi Division, the Mayor assured his desire to work together with the police in securing the people of Umunneochi and ensuring a safer environment.
While pointing out that Umunneochi has been relatively peaceful, after many years of kidnapping and other forms of insecurity, Chief Afurobi attributed the attainment to the well thought out security strategy introduced by Governor Alex Chioma Otti, that culminated into the formation of the Joint Security outfit codenamed “Operation Crush”.
He told the new DPO, of the readiness of the council to always work with him, emphasizingb that his office is open and receptive for exchange of security information, ideas, and opinions, that will facilitate and guarantee relative peace.
Chief Afurobi however condemned the high level of harmful habits, drug abuse, and other crimes perpetrated by some unscrupulous persons in the area and charged the DPO to brace up for the challenge ahead.
The Mayor who pledged assuring logistics support to the police used the opportunity to appreciate the out gone DPO, Nkwoagu, CSP Chukwudi Eze, for his hard work, dedication, and responsiveness while they worked together, and expressed optimism that the same cooperation will be replicated by the new DPO.
Speaking earlier, the new DPO, Isuochi Police Division, Supol Amadi, assured that he will discharge his duties diligently and in a proactive manner in accordance with stipulated guidelines of the Nigerian Police.
Supol Amadi, who disclosed that he met able and gallant Police Officers on ground, noted that as a former Operations Leader in Umunneochi, he will deploy his wealth of experience in accomplishing the mandate of his office.
The new DPO expressed the willingness to work in synergy with other conventional security agencies, registered Vigilante groups, Traditional Rulers and other community leaders, to ensure comprehensive security results, and urged people of the council to volunteer useful information to his office, assuring them of adequate protection.
