In its bid to fulfill an earlier promise, the First-Batch of Students who qualified for Ebonyi State Government sponsored foreign scholarships, comprising 204 Students departed Ebonyi this Saturday to different universities outside Nigeria for their academic studies.
This first batch of the 2024/2025 scholarship programme is part of a total of 745 beneficiaries of Ebonyi State Government fully funded foreign and local scholarship programme meant to address human capital development and challenges faced in society today.
Speaking while flagging off the scholarship programme at the Willberforce Chuba Okadigdo International Airport, Governor Francis Nwifuru made it clear that his administration places high premium on human capital development and described the scholarship programme as not just an investment in education but the future of Ebonyi State and Nigeria.
He therefore charged the Students to build networks and utilize the opportunity as a testament to their individual hardwork and brilliance.
The Governor used the forum to disclose that the university of Aeronautics embarked upon by his administration will now become a Federal Government Aviation Training School as the federal government has concluded plans to take off the birthing university.
In their speeches, some of the beneficiaries including, Ezekiel Nkwede and Emmanuel Nwachukwu, thanked the State Government for the gesture and expressed confidence that their Trainings will help them impact on the development of Ebonyi State and society.
