The Abia State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has expressed displeasure over the State Government’s decision to tax Churches’ signposts .
In a petition jointly endorsed by the Chairman, Rev Ojo Ojo Uduma and Secretary, Rev Dr Francis E. Okere and addressed to Governor Alex Otti, CAN described as regrettable that Abia, called God’s own State is the only state adopting such a policy.
The body therefore appealed to the Governor to rescind the decision to forestall his administration from being dubbed anti-Christ.
The Association expressed readiness to dialogue with the government to seek possible means of resolving the situation.
