Following the release and approval of the White Paper report of the visitation panel of the Abia State University, Uturu, the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has approved the appointment of Professor Ndukwe as the new Vice Chancellor Okudo of the University.
Briefing news men in Government House Umuahia on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu also announced the appointment of a new Management team and Governing Council for the university.
According to Prince Kanu, Rt. Hon. Agwu U Agwu, is the Pro Chancellor, Mrs. Cathrine Uju Ifejika is the Chancellor.
He further revealed other Members of the council to include Dr. Onwubiko Dike, two Deputy Vice Chancellors, four members of Senate, two members of congregations, 1 member of Convocation and a representative from the State Ministry of Tertiary Education and a new Bursar.
According to the Commissioner, the appointments take effect from November 1st, 2024..
