Abia Police Command Nabs Two Suspects For Vandalism and Stealing of Govt Property


The Abia state Police command has apprehended two suspects for allegedly vandalizing and stealing government property .
A release endorsed by the command’s spokesperson DSP Maureen Chinaka names the suspects to include Emmanuel Ogonna, (23 years) and Ifeanyichukwu Oko, male, (25 years), all from Lohum, Uzuakoli in Bende LGA.

Exhibits recovered from them include: Forty-nine (49) pieces of angle irons, two (2) saws, three (3) spanners, three (3) small iron boards and Eighty-six (86) electrical poles.

According to the release, the command Leveraging on actionable intelligence, made the arrest during a stop-and-search operation along Uzuakoli Road.

It further revealed that the suspects made confessional statements, admitting to vandalizing and stealing the listed exhibits recovered.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
