In his avowed determination to keep providing his Constituents with the needed democracy dividends, the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu, has completed the construction of a-four- bedroom bungalow for an Elderly Man, Mr Esinwoke Ahiaraumunna of Abayi Isi-Ngwa Autonomous Community.
The gesture which is the third in the Lawmaker’s attempt to provide succour to those in need of shelter started October last year when Hon Iheonunekwu popularly known and hailed as Ochake by Friends, Associates and Constituents visited Mr Esinwoko’s compound where the man known by his people as Otila Eke demanded little financial assistance from the politician.
Touched by the poor state of the Man’s abode which was a dilapidated mud house that could not even be used for domestic animals, the Legislator not only handed him some financial assistance but vowed to erect a new residence for Mr Esinwoko.
Overwhelmed by the pronouncement, this lucky beneficiary, Mr Esinwoko burst into tears of joy while other Constituents who witnessed the sudden development raised songs of praise and thanksgiving.
Just like he had already done in Ubaha and Mbubo Nsulu, Hon Iheonunekwu has again as promised completed the third bungalow without the usual fanfare that always accompanied such gestures by politicians.
Baring his mind on the completion of the edifice for him, Mr Esinwoko, visibly overwhelmed, thanked Ochake for providing him with a new home and comfort.
Mr Esinwoko who could not hold back tears of joy prayed for continued blessings upon Hon. Iheonunekwu, describing the gesture as a life-changing gift at this stage of his life.
Making his feelings known in a statement, Hon. Iheonunekwu made it clear that the gesture is in fulfillment of his covenant with God, which lays emphasis on the welfare of his people.
The Legislator restated his desire to ensure the proper representation of Isiala Ngwa North Constituency and the people, pointing out that the essence of leadership is to address the needs of the masses.
Recall , a few days ago Hon. Iheonunekwu who has continued to show a consistent commitment to the well-being of his constituents, had provided funds totalling N3 million for the free registration of over three hundred students in this year’s UTME (JAMB) examinations.
Meanwhile, many Constituents spoken to by Hanto Daily News have described the welfare packages of Ochake that traverse all sectors of life as impactful and people oriented and enjoined him not to relent.
