Abia State Sports Ambassador for Boxing and Ex-International Boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, has applauded Governor Dr. Alex Otti for the massive road construction and development in parts of the State.
Mazi Okoronkwo, an indigene of Arochukwu and Democracy Activist, in a release expressed happiness over the numerous road projects, particularly, in Osisioma, Aba, Isiala Ngwa, Umuahia among others.
He described the development as a sign of purposeful leadership, pointing out that it is already boosting businesses and restoring hope to Abians.
He described the Governor’s interventions in infrastructural development as evidence of commitment to economic growth of Abia State and the general well being of the people.
Mazi Okoronkwo also acknowledged the ongoing work on the Abam to Arochukwu road, including the completion of the Omunuko Bridge linking Abam to Amuvi, progressing through Amangwu to Obinkita.
He described these as laudable steps that will open up Arochukwu LGA for business and movement.
The Ex-International Boxer, however, appealed to the Abia State Government to extend similar development to other communities in Arochukwu LGA particularly Ututu, Ihechiowa, Isu, Ugwuakuma.
According to him, linking these communities with motorable roads, will further boost agriculture, trade, and rural development across the state.
“We thank His Excellency for the good work already started. We pray that this development will be extended to more communities,” the Democracy Activist pleaded.
Mazi Okoronkwo, therefore, called on Abians and residents of the State to throw their weight behind the re-election of the Governor who has already transformed the landscape of Abia .
He made it clear that the presence of Governor Otti in the governance of the State till 2031 will place the State at a level of economic and socio-political prosperity never witnessed before.
