Report of Another Disagreement Between Fubara and Assembly is False – Rivers Govt

The Rivers State Government says there is no truth in the reports by some media outfits suggesting a disagreement between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly over the 2026 Appropriation Bill.

Rivers Government in a statement on Wednesday, endorsed by Onwuka Nzeshi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor described the reports published by some national dailies and online platforms as misleading and not reflecting the relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government.

Nzeshi made it clear that Governor Fubara was working closely with the lawmakers in the interest of the people of Rivers State and “not at loggerheads” with members of the State House of Assembly.

According to the release, the 2026 budget proposal, which was the subject of the reports, was currently undergoing the normal legislative process and expressed confidence that the lawmakers will patriotically perform their duties.

The statement therefore enjoined those promoting duch negative narratives to desist in the interest of peace and stability of the State.

It reassured that the current administration was focused on maintaining peace and harmony between the two arms of government.
