ABSU Suspends Professor Over Social Media Posts

Following his allegations through his Facebook page that some professors in Abia state university, ABSU, are earning less than N400,000 monthly, the Management of the State University, has suspended the author, Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences.

A release endorsed by the Deputy Registrar/PRO of ABSU, Chijioke Nwogu says concerns arising from various social media posts attributed to Professor Nwaeze, is inimical to the interests of the University and uncomplimentary to the Visitor of the University, Governor Alex Otti.

Prof Naeze in the post had claimed that the cumulative earnings of some tricyclists (Keke riders) is higher than what professors receive in Abia State University.

The release further announced the constitution of an Investigative Panel to look into the matter.

According to the release, the suspension of the Professor takes immediate effect.
