The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, OACF has called for renewed commitment to safer roads, responsible driving, and protecting one another.
In a message to mark the World Day Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, with theme : Road victims are not numbers – they are loved, missed and remembered, the Foundation reminded all Stakeholders that safety is a shared responsibility.
While pointing out that the Drivers, Passengers and Pedestrian play big roles in ensuring safety, OACF called on all to work together to ensure that lives are no longer lost needlessly.
“Today, we pause to remember all the lives lost and affected by road traffic accidents. Each person was someone’s family, friend, and loved one and their absence is deeply felt.
“As we honor their memory, we renew our commitment to safer roads, responsible driving, and protecting one another. Let us all remember that safety is a shared responsibility. Slow down, stay alert, and never take the road for granted because one moment of caution can prevent a lifetime of pain.
“Whether you’re a driver, passenger, or pedestrian, your choices can save lives and every small act of caution can save a future.Protect yourself, protect others, and let’s work together to ensure that no more lives are lost needlessly. Safety first and Safety always.
“May the souls of the victims find rest and peace, and may their families find strength, comfort, and healing,” the statement concluded.
