Vice Chancellor MOUAU Congratulates Hon Onuigbo on African Impact Excellence Award

The Vice Chancellor, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, MOUAU, has congratulated the Member Representing South East on the Board of North East Development Commission, NEDC, Hon Sir Sam Onuigbo on his choice for the African Impact Excellence Award 2025 by The Voice News Magazine, Netherlands.

The Vice Chancellor in a congratulatory letter he endorsed with his wife Dr Mrs Iwe and addressed to Sir Onuigbo and his wife, Lady Chinyere Onuigbo, pointed out that the honour is coming courtesy of his consistent pursuit of programs and projects on Climate Change.

“You have earned the African Impact Excellence Award 2025 for sponsoring the Climate Change Act 2021 and ensuring it got the President of Nigeria’s assent against all odds, even though the Bill failed in the 6th, 7th and 8th National Assembly.

“You continued to amplify the issues of Climate Change in Nigeria, Africa and across the globe. The overall summary of your efforts is that consistency pays,” the letter read.

While identifying with the rare prestigious honour, Prof Iwe therefore commended the former member of the House of Representatives for his doggedness in pursing a cause that is contemporary and useful to Nigeria , Africa and the World.
