There are strong indications that Femi Gbajabiamila will not be sacked from his position as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu over a fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The fact emerged on Thursday when the Minsiter of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, declared during his monthly media chat in Abuja, argued that the Chief of Staff is being targeted as a way to embarrass President Tinubu.
According to him, Gbajabiamila is a clean man and not involved in the controversial Agency.
Wike who made it clear that he knows the Chief of Staff very well ruled out the possibility of Gbajabiamila’s suspension, despite calls from opposition parties for his suspension over links to the PFIPC scandal.
The former Rivers Governor described calls from the opposition members, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Gbajabiamila’s suspension as rubbish.
“I know the chief of staff very, very well. He did not. People are saying the chief of staff must be sacked. By whom? The opposition? Why not form a government, and then you can sack whoever you want to sack,” Wike roared.
Recall, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to within 30 days conduct and submit a thorough investigation into the activities of the controversial “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” (PFIPC) and all related matters.
