The Anglican Diocese of Umuahia, has put together a two-day Retreat and Rededication programme for the Council of Knights ,of the Diocese.
Preaching during the two-day Retreat and Rededication service which marked the end of the programme held at Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, Umuahia, the Bishop Anglican Diocese of Umuahia, the Rt Reverend Dr Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi charged Christians to renew their strength through constant study of the Word of God and fervent prayers.
Speaking on the theme, “Renew My Strength Oh! Lord” taken from Isaiah chapter 40 verse 29 to 31, the Rt Reverend Dr Ibeabuchi noted that it was important for Christians to admit their weaknesses and connect to the source of strength to enable them to overcome the challenges of life.
The Bishop pointed at increase in lawlessness, wickedness and failing economy in the country which affect the zeal of many in doing the work of God as reasons why Christians should renew their strength in the Lord.
He therefore encouraged the Knights and Ladies of the Diocese not to be discouraged but to always study the Word of God, defend the Faith and carry the cross which are the essence of their calling in God’s vineyard.
The event featured the rededication of the Knights , seminar on Gender Based Violence and Exposition of the theme by Venerable (Dr) Chukwuemeka Agbanyim.
