After much behind the scene movements, it is now certain that the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, will formally join the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Enugu, the state capital.
Speaking with Newsmen at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, the newly inaugurated Enugu State APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, disclosed that Governor Mbah and his appointees would officially be received into the ruling party on October 14.

The planned defection will mark Mbah’s exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under which he was elected governor in 2023, and a turning point for the umbrella party that would now be without a Governor in a zone that was its strongest base before 2023.
Inaugurating a seven-man caretaker committee for the APC in Enugu State, the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and Deputy National Chairman (South), Hon. Emma Eneukwu, said the move was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s presence in the South East.
Recall, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Duro Meseko, had earlier hinted that the party was preparing to receive the Enugu governor this week.
