PDP crisis: Damagum’s Spokesperson resigns

As the future of the once touted largest political party in Africa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), continues to remain shaky and confusing, Yusuf Dingyadi, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, has formally resigned from his position.

Dingyadi who did not state reasons for his resignation, in a letter made available to newsmen this Sunday (29/6/25) and dated June 25, 2025, which he addressed to the PDP Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum, expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for the opportunity to serve over the past three years.

“While I appreciate the support and prayers of the PDP family during my stay in this office, I remain appreciative of all the contributions given to me to ensure the success of my assignment,” the letter read in part.

Dingyadi who was a key figure during these turbulent political moments, was frequently featured across radio, television, and print media platforms where he defended PDP policies, clarified party developments, and promoted unity and coherence within the party.

The former PDP Spokesperson who is a journalist with over two decades of experience, Dingyadi has worked with reputable media organisations, including Reporter/Nasiha and BBC Hausa.

He has been involved in the media team of various PDP campaigns since 1998 and has served in different capacities.
