As part of its determination to assist the Dr Alex Otti led administration in maintaining a clean and conducive environment for human living, the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation embarked on the August 2025 Monthly Clean-Up Exercise at Better Life Market, Lokpanta, Umuchieze, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
Reports say the members embarked on sweeping of the market surroundings, desilting of the drainage, proper waste disposal, and sensitization of residents on the need to maintain hygienic conditions within the marketplace.

Speaking with Hanto Daily News during the exercise held on Saturday, 30th August, 2025, the Foundation’s Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Oguama David Ikechukwu, reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community health and lauded the successful conduct of the Monthly Clean-Up Exercise in the area.
Hon. Oguma argued that environmental cleanliness is not only essential for healthy living but also crucial for economic activities.
” A clean market attracts more buyers and enhances business opportunities,” he noted.
The Zonal Coordinator commended members of the Foundation, traders, market women, and youths for turning out enmasse to participate and urged residents to sustain the culture of sanitation.
He thanked God for the vision granted to the Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, High Chief Oluebube A. Chukwu and prayed for his continued blessing as he impacts lives across communities in Umunneochi.

In his speech, the Deputy Mayor Umunneochi LGA, Hon. Igbo Chukwunonye, appreciated the founder and Executive Director Oluebube A. Chukwu foundation, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu for his good gesture towards the people of Lokpanta and enjoined the people to reciprocate the gesture by adopting good environmental habits.
Contributing, a stakeholder from Lokpanta, Mr. Madu Felix, while commending the initiative, prayed for Dr Chukwu to attain greater political heights and enjoined him to continue his good works.
Baring their minds in separate interviews, the people of Lokpanta lauded the OACF for the clean up initiative and pledged their support to the foundation and its programmes.
The OACF monthly clean-up exercise has through community collaborations created a healthier and more sustainable environment for the people of Abia State through ensuring active participation by citizens in the exercise.
