The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, and former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, on Wednesday, the last day of 2025, officially and publicly confirmed his membership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
The strategic and political move which took place in Enugu was a move that brought together renowned Stakeholders and key political figures from the South East geopolitical zone.

Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Mr Obi He, noted that it would be inaccurate to describe the move as merely joining a coalition, stating that he has been part of the ADC movement from the onset.

The Former LP Presidential Candidate made it clear that the challenges confronting the country are too serious for political grandstanding, pointing out that it requires sincere collaboration which the ADC provides.
The choice of Enugu, the historic capital of the South East geopolitical zone for the formal announcement and the calibre of political figures from the region aligning with him has already started generating intense discussions bearing in mind the influence of Mr Obi in the 2023 election.

The event which attracted the National chairman of ADC , Senator David Mark and the leadership of the new coalition party, featured speeches from Serving members of the national and State Assemblies, former Governors, stakeholders, Rights activists among others who declared their support for the ADC and Mr Obi.

Among them are Senatorial Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Victor Umeh, former Governors: Emeka Ihedioha, Achike Udenwa, Sam Egwu, Okwesilieze Nwodo as well as Prof Pat Utomi, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Aisha Yusuf, Youth leaders to mention but a few.
