There was an unexpected outcome at the Senate committee on Ethics sitting this Tuesday as Former Minister Oby Ezekwesili Senator representing Ebonyi North, Onyekachi Nwaebonyi exchanged bitter words.
Reports emanating from unconfirmed viral video say tensions escalated when Senator Nwaebonyi allegedly made harsh remarks toward Ezekwesili during the session of the committee handling Senator Natasha’s allegation of sexual harassment against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The incident, first reported by Viable TV, has sparked widespread debate about the conduct of lawmakers in official proceedings.
According to reports, tensions escalated when Senator Nwaebonyi made harsh remarks toward Ezekwesili during the session. In response, she firmly called him out, condemning both his behavior and the committee’s handling of the situation.
In a viral video from the hearing, Nwaebonyi was heard calling Ezekwesili “a fool” and “a disgrace to womanhood.”
However, in a quick reaction, Ezekwesili was said to have replied, “You are a disgrace to the Senate. You cannot undermine my credibility. It is unacceptable for you to insult me in such a manner.”
She also criticized the committee chairman for failing to intervene, saying, “You sat there and allowed a senator to insult me. I demand accountability.”
