INEC receives recall petition against Senator Natasha

As attempts to abruptly end the political career of the Senator representing Kogi Central senatorial zone, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan at the National Assembly continue from different angles, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally received a petition to initiate the recall process for the embattled Kogi born Senator

The Secretary of the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, received the petition this Monday which is reported to have been signed by over 250,000 out of 480,000 registered voters in the Senatorial District.

The petition which accused her of gross misconduct, loss of confidence, and a pattern of deceitful behaviour, demands that INEC commence the constitutional and procedural process for her recall and declare her seat vacant.

The latest attempt of using INEC is one of the High stakes politics being financed by her traducers within and outside the State who are trying every possible trick to remove Senator Natasha from the political space she is currently occupying.

There were reports, a few days ago that residents of Kogi Central were allegedly misled into signing the recall form under the pretence of participating in an empowerment program, a development said to have seen the constituents publicly criticizing those who deceived them into signing the document.

Sources close to the outspoken Senator say , Natasha who still remains popular among her Constituents is leaving no stone unturned in order to prove that she was elected via the Peoples’ mandate despite forces that stood against her.
