I will continue to ensure transparency and accountability – Umunneochi LG Mayor

The Mayor Umunneochi Local Government Area, Chief Sunny Afurobi has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards serving with transparency and accountability in line with the governance model of Governor Alex Otti.

Speaking at the Council headquarters, Nkwoagu Isuochi, when he received the Leadership of Labour Party in Abia State led by the Chairman Sir Emmanuel Oti, the Mayor vowed to continue serving with the fear of God, pointing out that the Governor has changed the dynamics of leadership of the State.

According to him, his administration is committed to complementing the transformational initiative of the Governor in the areas of Youths empowerment, Agriculture, Health, Security, innovation technology and described the visit by the Leadership of Labour Party as a source of motivation that will take the good works of the Governor to the grassroots.

In his Speech, Abia State Chairman, Labour Party, Sir Emmanuel Oti explained that visit was embarked upon to access the achievements of the Mayors and their Cabinet since they assumed office and commended Chief Sunny Afurobi for his people-oriented policies and programmes which have resulted in uplifting the living standards of the people.

Contributing, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Due Process, Dr Oluebube Chukwu applauded Chief Afurobi for aligning with the development agenda of Governor Alex Otti who has entrenched transparency and accountability in the state’s governance policy and called on the people remain supportive of the present administration.

In their remarks the Member Representing Umunneochi State Constituency Hon Mathias Umeh, Member Abia State House of Assembly Service Commission Lady Grace Ibe and Deputy Coordinator Umunneochi Abia Arise said that the people of Umunneochi are grateful to the Governor for his unprecedented achievements in the council and promised to support the Governor in his future political ambitions.

The ceremony which attracted the presence of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement Dr Oluebube Chukwu among other personalities was receiving of decampees from APC and PDP to the ruling Labour party in the state.
