As the Rivers State political drama continues to unfold, former Rivers state Head of Service, Dr. George Nwaeke has described the alarm earlier raised by his wife, Florence, as unnecessary, declaring that he is safe in Abuja.
Dr Nwaeke gave the assurance while addressing Newsmen as seen in a video released on Social media, Nwaeke in a reaction to the alarm by his wife who claimed that he had been kidnapped and forced to carry out an interview where he accused the Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, of masterminding the bombing of Rivers State House of Assembly and some oil pipelines in the state.
According to the former HOS who was cladded in his Ankara outfit, “I’m in Transcorp Abuja. I came in here this morning to meet with security agencies to report myself and the things that are happening in Rivers state. Actually, I was head of service until Monday 24th and I resigned because of things that are happening.
“After the press interview that I granted, I just saw a video of my wife trending where they went to goad* her and fed her with all kinds of fallacies that I have been kidnapped.
“They told her that I have been kidnapped. I want to clear this, I am not kidnapped. I am in Abuja, this is transcorp hotel where I am lodging. They told her I have been kidnapped and wrote a script for her to say all sorts of things.
“I am the head of service and I am on Oath. my wife does not know the things that happen in my office and I don’t discuss anything about office with her.”
“That script they wrote for her is not her voice. So to clear the air, I am safe and i am in Abuja,” he concluded.
This latest interview where three notable TV stations’ identities were noticeable had again raised dust among interest groups regarding the real freedom of the Man addressing the press.
While some agre with his position, others query why he should be reading from a script on such a simple and direct matter concerning him.
Hanto Daily News investigations reveal that more unexpected drama may unfold in days to come.
