Gov Uzodinma is Still Our Chair – PGF

After initial unofficial reports that APC Governors have changed their leadership, the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has formally dismissed reports alleging the removal of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as chairman of the forum.

The forum in a statement issued by the Director General of the Forum, Folorusho Aluko, described the claims as false, misleading and without any basis.

According to the statement, no meeting was held where such a decision was taken.

The PGF, therefore, insisted that Governor Uzodinma still remains the authentic chairman of the body, adding that the report being circulated on some media platforms was entirely fabricated.

The statement further made it clear that the PGF Secretariat had no record of any resolution or discussion concerning the removal of the chairman.

“The Forum remains united, focused, and committed to its responsibilities,” the statement adds.

It, therefore, enjoined members of the public, party faithful and the media to disregard the report in its entirety, declaring that Governor Uzodinma continues to enjoy the confidence and support of governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall reports had emerged some hours ago that the PGF had held a meeting with about 20 Governors in attendance where Governor Uzodinma was allegedly removed and replaced with his Enugu State counterpart, Governor Peter Mbah .
