Go For Membership Drive – Ochiagha Ufomba Charges New ChangeAbia SWC

The Founder and Leader of ChangeAbia Organisation, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba has charged the newly constituted State working committee of the body to distinguish itself through hard work, unity of purpose, transparency and results.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the body, Ochiagha Ufomba reminded members that their appointment is a call to service requiring commitment, sacrifice, integrity, discipline and, above all, a deep understanding of the mission of the organisation.

“The strength of any organisation is not determined by the number of names on its register, but by the quality, commitment and effectiveness of the people who carry its responsibilities. I therefore expect this Committee

There is a popular saying “as you make your bed, so you lie on it”.

“The Changeabia Organisation has no readymade vono bed for anyone. But has a duvet that covers and protects those who make their beds from cold, from mosquitoes and from socio-economic nakedness,” he pointed out.

While calling on them to ensure that the organisation’s mission and vision remain at the centre of their activities, the founder challenged them to become ambassadors of the values and a responsible representatives of the organisation.

As a guide, I refer us to the mission statement of the Organisation on top of this platform, and our SOP also on display on this platform. Anyone in perpetual violation will be shown the way out.

He therefore emphasised the importance of mobilisation and membership registration, arguing that an organisation cannot grow on paper.

“We must reach out to people, identify men and women of goodwill, explain our mission to them and bring them into the fold through a transparent and properly coordinated registration process.

” But mobilisation must never become an exercise in personal empire-building. No individual owns the organisation. We are all custodians of a common vision,” Ochiagha Ufomba charged.

To this end, he challenged them to avoid actions that create divisions, rival centres of authority or unnecessary competition among members, reminding all that ‘a house divided against itself cannot stand’.

“I also expect the Committee to maintain discipline and respect for the established rules and channels of communication.

“Where there are disagreements, let us resolve them internally and constructively. Where there are doubts, let us seek clarification rather than act on assumptions. Where there are genuine grievances, let us create room for them to be heard.
Unity does not mean that we will always agree. It means that even when we disagree, we remain committed to the same purpose,” the Founder advised.

While recalling that Changeabia has survived storms, Ochiagha Ufomba said:
“I want this State Working Committee to be functional, not ceremonial; productive, not merely administrative; and results-oriented, not title-oriented.

“Let us therefore set measurable objectives for ourselves. Let us know where we are today, where we want to be tomorrow and what specific steps we must take to get there.

“The only KPI known to me is to grow our membership by zonal and LGA coordinators. Let our membership drive remain a “mass attack mass defense formula”.

According to him, Leadership is not about one person having all the answers and the best organisations are those in which people are encouraged to contribute their knowledge, experience and creativity while respecting the collective decision-making process.

He however reassured his commitment to providing the necessary direction and support and called for a journey with humility, commitment and a clear sense of purpose.
