Ganduje’s resignation: APC will soon implode – Sule Lamido

Renowned politician and former Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Sule Lamido, says the resignation of the National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and other internal contradictions within the party will soon result to serious implosion .

The PDP Stalwart who made the prediction while addressing Newsmen on the State of the country ahead of 2027 polls, pointed out that the ruling APC is on the verge of a major split, stressing that the internal contradictions, personal ambitions, and unresolved tensions within the APC will soon reach a boiling point that will result in key figures such as Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and others to defect to the opposition PDP.

He made it clear that the APC, which was formed as a merger of various interests, lacks ideological unity and has only been held together by the lure of power, arguing that with various interests now clashing and personal ambitions overriding collective vision, its collapse is inevitable.

“APC was never a political party in the real sense of it. It was an emergency coalition to grab power, not a party built on ideology or a national vision. Now that they have power, all the underlying contradictions are beginning to explode,” he boasted

According to him, President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style has alienated several factions within the APC, especially, those loyal to former President Muhammadu Buhari and other northern power blocs and revealed that such interests may soon find refuge in the PDP or other political platforms.

Lamido also claimed that other high-profile figures within the APC including former Governors, Ministers, and Senators are already secretly reaching out to opposition elements and negotiating soft landings ahead of 2027.

While charging PDP members to remain focused, organized, and united in order to capitalize on the inevitable implosion of the APC, he noted, “We must be ready. We must rebuild our base and project the PDP as the only true party capable of restoring Nigeria’s dignity.”
