As the political drama for the 2027 governorship poll in Rivers State continues unfolding, there are indications that many allies of incumbent Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara are likely to pitch their tent with the Nigeria Democratic Congres, NDC.
Just a few hours after the Rivers Governor withdrew from the Guber race, a kinsman Blessing Fubara has picked the governorship nomination form of the NDC.
Hanto Daily News reports that the fresh political development has further fueled speculations about possible political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, especially amid reports that some loyalists of Governor Fubara are already moving toward the NDC platform.
According to findings discussions are now centered on what and who may be behind the new entrant into the race.
Speaking with Hanto Daily News, a youth leader, Ipalibo Dick described the development as exciting and predicted that Blessing Fubara could record a large followership following the disgraceful way the APC treated Governor Fubara, if he secured the ticket.
Confirming the development, Rivers State NDC Chairman, Success Jack, made it clear that the party is preparing strongly for the 2027 elections and expressed confidence on the party’s chances across the state.
Blessing Fubara, who is a development strategist, urban renewal consultant, and grassroots mobilizer with experience in public sector advisory and youth empowerment initiatives, obtained his forms at the NDC headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
Recall, he dumped the All progressives Congress , APC about two weeks ago.
