As civil and Public Servants continued wondering what was happening to the sale of the subsidized rice to them as authorized by President Bola Tinubu, reports reaching Hanto Daily News say the federal government has withdrawn the sale of subsidized 50-kilogramme bags of rice for N40,000 each, to public servants.
This notice is contained in a circular dated August 2 and titled, “Withdrawal of internal circular on sale of subsidized rice to public servants.”
According to sources It was the same Ministry that announced the commencement of the exercise that also directed the withdrawal and no reason was given for the sudden change of action.
Recall, the sale of the subsidized rice was announced on August 1, 2024, through the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Human Resources Management Department.
