History has been made in the Nigeria’s Air Force as the Governing Council of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has approved the appointment of Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Osichinaka Chiedu Ubadike as Professor of Aerospace Engineering.
The development which is the first in the history of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) makes Ubadike the first-ever serving officer in the NAF to be conferred the rank of Professor.
According to a statement by the NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the man of the moment, AVM Ubadike, holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Vehicle Design from the esteemed Cranfield University in the United Kingdom.
He also possesses three other Master’s degrees from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, with a first-class Bachelor of Electrical Electronics Engineering degree from NDA.
The historic man has led several cutting-edge research initiatives within the NAF, including his pivotal role in the development of the indigenous NAF Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).
